What is a SMART repair and why?
Getting a scratch or dent on your car can be incredibly demoralising. When your vehicle gets damaged, for whatever reason, getting it fixed is usually a top priority.

SMART stands for ‘Small to medium area repair technique’. A vehicle SMART repair is a cost-effective and efficient method of repairing minor cosmetic damage to a vehicle, such as scratches, dents, chips, or scuffs.
This type of repair focuses on dealing with small, localised damage, and aims to fix the problem without the need for large-scale or expensive bodywork, such as replacement panels.
SMART repairs can be done quickly to a high standard, leaving the customer satisfied whilst minimising costs and wait times for work.
What can be repaired with the SMART technique?
Scratches, scuffs & exterior trim repairs: Minor scratches can be painted, buffed or touched up with special paint.
Paint chips: Small chips in the paintwork, especially on the body or bumper, can be filled with expertly-matched paint or touch-up kits.
Bumper scuffs: Minor cracks, scuffs, or damage to plastic bumpers can be fixed without replacing the whole part.
Alloy wheels: Cracks and degradation to alloys can be fixed, helping to restore their longevity.

Where a traditional bodyshop may take several days to complete a repair, a SMART repair can be quicker and more efficient due to only having to repair a small area of the car. This means it is possible for a SMART repair to be completed in just a few hours.

SMART repair, as a term, covers a large variety of repairs – whether that is a scratch, dent, scuff, or even crack in a bumper. As such, the cost of the repair depends on what it is precisely that you want doing. When determining the price of a repair we often take into consideration the size and location of the damage, as well as the paint of the car.
